yeahhhhhhh. this is real nice....i like the vocals too. very dreamy. i really need to strat doing vocals. they add a lot to songs. a lot of good.

ericdrebin responds:

Thanks, although the singing was part of the original song, so I can't take credit. Doing vocals is hard, very hard.

hond civi.

i do not think the singing is bad. it kind of reminds me of a grandaddy sort of sound. the highish voice does. maybe even flaming lips. it is good though. i assume it was made with minimal resources and for that i commend you.

ericdrebin responds:

Well, thanks for the compliment, but I do think the singing could be batter (although any comparison to Grandaddy makes me feel better).

our planet is breaking in half ,but...

at the very beginning of this it reminded me of these three things:

vitamin c's song graduation day
a theremin
sun

together it is a magical happiness that i quite frankly loved. it reminds me of so many good things that dont happen enough any more. until now.

ericdrebin responds:

Thanks! This song always makes me think of the joy and beauty that's hiding, just waiting to be unleashed, in the circuitry of all synthesizers.

horse. running off into a cloudy sunset.

dude.....soooooo good. i did a goodbye horses cover as well and it is absolutely dismal compared to this. i like this a lot.

ericdrebin responds:

Well, thanks. I only wish I couldtake more credit for this remix, but most of the cool shit wasn't my doing.

the piano part kicks ass, wait no no, that doesnt sound right, its too relaxing to be kicking any ass. but what im trying to say is i like it...and i too also get the Sims feel to it...in some parts.

im not sure if you've ever heard Figurine, but this sounds a lot like it, i like this and i like what its about...or should i say who its about....even though i dont know this man...

ericdrebin responds:

Oh, I know all about Figurine, or James Figurine, or Dntel, or whatever the hell Tamborello chooses to call himself. Thanks for the flattering comparison.
There is no 'REAL' Arthur Widdleton, but the song was originally inspired by a manager that I had at a McDonalds in Seattle who always had crap luck. The only time the store was every robbed (that I know of) was on his shift, or another time when he had to be to the hospital after work, his car battery died (and it was raining). He always had stuff like that happen to him, but he always kept a positive attitude, and that inspired me to make this song.

son of a bitch

what the fuck is wrong with people! why does music have to be PRETTY and CLEAN...the lyrics to this remind me of something Trent Reznor-esque..and ive listened to this a couple times now and im realizing more and more that these other people that reviewed, no offense, dont seem to notice original good music when the hear it....its too noisy? good! its too garbled together? fucking perfect! haha

ericdrebin responds:

Yeah, I was listening to too much NIN back then (totally love 'Ghosts', by the way), and I'm sure that leaked into my song writing. I like this song, and chose to submit it to Newgrounds, because it's so strange, but yet has an accessable pop-song style structure, so that it could still be used in a flash or whatever.

no sir, you're mistaken

i think it actually just cleared up the problem i had with MY system. i think i had too much stupid boring music fucking it all up, but now its workin a little better. thanks.

ericdrebin responds:

The only joke I can think up is:
Maybe your computer had the T(-Pain) Virus.
...but that's a dumb joke.

how did you ......

all i have to say is, how the hell did you manage almost as many downloads as listens??! thats sayin somethin man...you know youre doin something good when more people d/l than even vote!! haha its a mystery to me.

but yeah totally bazaar and thats what music should be.

ericdrebin responds:

Man, this piece is so damn old. It actually started out as an accident when I was learning how to use computers to make music, and I just loved how it sounded. I was actually contemplating taking this off of the site when some guy sent me a message asking if he could use this for a short experimental film. After that, I changed my mind and chose to leave it up.

im melting, and i love that....

man, this reminds me of floating in a liquid outerspace on a warm cloud of static...watching the earth being obliterated, and yet feeling totally at peace...this is the stuff i need to hear more of! thank you

ericdrebin responds:

Well, damn. Thanks.
I really need to fix my Juno 106. I found this on some old 4-track tapes I was going thru, so I recorded it into the computer and cleaned it up a little. I think this piece is about 3/4 years old.
My 106 crapped out on me (it had hte chip issue that most people's had). I found some guy online who makes replacement chips, and I need to pick one up, as the 106 was my baby.

If you like techno, you probably shouldnt bother listening to this...if youre on drugs, do listen. and PLEASE dont talk shit if you have no music on the site...thats just fucking ignorant. the rest of you, hope its not too bad and you SOMEWHAT enjoy it.
